Optional cloud service.

Effective October 1, 2026. These terms cover the paid Video Notes Backup & Sync service. The free, local browser-extension features remain available without a subscription.

Service

A paid subscription provides client-side encrypted cloud backup, multi-device sync, restore, 30-day revision history, and the storage quota shown at checkout. Features may carry a Beta label while reliability and recovery flows are evaluated.

Billing

Paddle is the Merchant of Record. Paddle presents the final localized price, taxes, currency, payment methods, renewal interval, and seller information at checkout. Subscriptions renew until canceled. Ordinary cancellation takes effect as stated in Paddle’s customer portal, and paid access continues through the applicable paid period. Permanently deleting the Video Notes account is different: it immediately cancels the associated subscription and ends cloud-service access.

Your responsibilities

You must keep your recovery key private and safe. Video Notes cannot decrypt your backup and cannot replace a lost key. If every authorized device and the recovery key are lost, the encrypted data is unrecoverable. Do not use the service for unlawful content or attempts to evade technical limits.

Availability and local data

The service is provided with reasonable care, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Network or service failure does not block local saves. Ending a subscription or deleting cloud data does not delete notes already stored locally. You should keep periodic manual exports for important material.

Retention and termination

Past-due subscriptions receive the grace period displayed in the product. After paid access ends, cloud backup may remain read-only for 30 days and is then scheduled for deletion. Account deletion requests remove sessions and encrypted cloud data. Legal, fraud-prevention, or transaction records may be retained where required.

Liability and applicable rights

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights. To the extent permitted by law, Video Notes is not liable for losses caused by a lost recovery key, unsupported browser modification, or failure to keep an independent backup.
